PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy of psychology draws from both Eastern and Western traditions to ease suffering, restore balance and enhance growth.
My approach is more interactive in that by providing certain information about how we work as humans, how we form relationships and how we heal, clients can reach a satisfying result more quickly than through other traditional methods.
The client’s goals and the particular strengths they bring to the table will determine the approach or approaches used to deepen their understanding of the underlying dynamics, shift their emotional state, or change a particular behavior. This is also true with parenting issues.
Often in one or two sessions I am able to provide the parents with information about their child’s developmental stage, personality style, specific issues they are facing, and provide specific approaches that will support, direct, or contain their child’s behavior.
For children I provide, play therapy, sandplay therapy, art therapy and a cognitive behavior model called, “The Wheel Of Emotions” and “The Remedy Wheel” which I developed and used with more than 7,000 children in the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
For teens I offer information and support in both a free and protected environment for their discovery of “How We Work”, their emotional management, issues of identity, issues with intimacy and guidance towards their independence.
Currently, half of my practice is with adults and couples and the other half includes children, teens, and parenting issues.
There are also, frequent workshops for individual adults, couples and parents.
